It’s so common for those annoying infomercials and YouTube ads to scream at you about how “all you need to do to lose weight is take this supplement and you will lose all your fat in less than a month!”

And, I hate to be the one to say this, but getting ripped in 30 days is a total lie.

Nobody in the history of the world can look like that in just 4 weeks. You can see some serious progress though!

I love watching fitness dudes on Youtube as much as the next person, but nothing is crazier than the jacked gymnasts that compete in the Olympics.

There’s also a bunch of jacked calisthenics-only athletes on Youtube with all their “how-to” workout videos and progressions, but none of them say how long it takes to get that way.

There’s no straight answer on how long it takes to get ripped with calisthenics. It really depends on the person’s current body fat percentage, fitness level, and nutrition (possibly the biggest factor in being “ripped”).

What does it mean if someone is ripped image

We’ve all heard someone describe someone else as “ripped” without any explanation, but we all knew exactly what they meant.

Dictionary.com defines “ripped” as “drunk; intoxicated.” I’m totally kidding, that is a definition, but not the one I’m actually referencing here.

The real definition is: “having well-defined muscles; very muscular.”

Don’t worry though, I know that doesn’t give a very detailed look. I’ll examine what it means in terms of numbers, or quantifiable data, to give a more complete understanding.

Hot Take: Honestly, Planet Fitness Isn’t That Bad

It’s the butt of hundreds of overdone yet somehow hilarious internet memes. It’s an entire personality trait amongst self-proclaimed “real” lifters. It’s … it’s … hating Planet Fitness.

Peeved bodybuilders shame the popular gym chain’s obnoxious Lunk Alarm siren, ban on weight-slamming, and lack of legitimate squat racks.

The semi-ironic anti-lunk atmosphere (so much for the “Judgement Free Zone”) and elbow-deep Tootsie Roll jar at the front desk only add fuel to the “Planet Fitness isn’t a real gym” fire.

But how’s this for a strange hill to die on — Planet Fitness really isn’t that bad.
