1. He’s the Son of Multi-Millionaire Michael O’Gallagher
O’Gallagher grew up in Toronto, Ontario and he is the second-oldest of four kids – he has two brothers and one sister. Gregory’s father was Michael O’Gallagher, the founder of a real estate company called MetCap.
The company managed apartment buildings all across Canada, and at the time of his death in 1988, Michael O’Gallagher’s net worth was $800 million. To this day, MetCap is the largest manager of multi-family residences in Toronto.
2. He Dropped Out of College
After finishing high school, O’Gallagher enrolled at the University of Guelph in Ontario. But, he dropped out of the marketing management program after his freshman year because he found the curriculum dated and didn’t think it was useful for his career goals.

3. His First Mentor was Rusty Moore
After O’Gallagher dropped out of college at the age of 19, he left Toronto and moved to Los Angeles where he worked for a short time as a personal trainer. At that time he started following different fitness blogs and influencers, including Visual Impact Fitness founder Rusty Moore.
Gregory O’Gallagher ended up reaching out to Moore, and they developed a professional relationship while Moore was working on his first fitness website success, Fitness Blackbook. Greg learned everything he could from Moore, and he credits him as being his first mentor.
Editor Note: What’s fascinating about this story is that I actually know it firsthand. How? I was actually part of the online mastermind group organized by Rusty Moore when O’Gallagher was just getting started with Kinobody.
It was interesting to see his growth because two things noticeably set him apart from the others in the group. First, O’Gallagher always had a lean, defined body, and he used it as his main testimonial of his knowledge every chance he got.
His website, while underdeveloped, was plastered with images of himself posing and showing off his muscles, accompanied by very long, detailed write-ups of how he did it. So while he was still pretty self-absorbed back then, he always justified his images with plenty of helpful and effective strategies which contributed to him gaining a massive following in the community.
Second, Rusty Moore had been doing affiliate marketing and online fitness promotion for a long time so he already had significant revenue rolling in to reinvest in various tools like page builders, email capture software, high-quality graphics, etc. Since O’Gallagher already had the funds, any time Moore suggested a new tool, Greg was using it soon after.
This gave him a clear advantage since any SAAS subscription or one-off purchase that might make the rest of us check our recent bank statements to see if we could swing it, O’Gallagher didn’t bat an eye. Because of this, his marketing tactics were slick, cutting edge, and often way more effective than the rest of us.
4. He Found His Calling at Age 6
Even though his dad had made millions in real estate, taking over the family business was never Greg’s goal. He says that by the age of six he knew that he “wanted to build a downright incredible physique that was strong and powerful” just like the action figures he collected.
Greg O’Gallagher said that he asked his dad if he could ever look like that, and he told him that it was possible if he worked out. It was at that moment that Greg realized he had control over his strength, physique, and fitness.
5. He Bought His First Fitness Program at Age 13
All Greg wanted for Christmas when he was 13 was a couple of workout programs, and he remembers begging his mom for this and nothing else. Gregory ended up getting the Underground Guide to Warrior Fitness by Ross Enamait, and he was immediately hooked.
Even when the family went on vacation, he found a way to do his pull-ups because nothing was going to stop his fitness routine.

Just by looking at Greg O’Gallagher’s physique in his videos, you could say that most of the time, Greg is obviously a natural bodybuilder that doesn’t use steroids. However, there is one video that is suspect to debate since his body exhibits certain traits of steroid-use that casual users have pointed out.
In the below video, filmed in 2016, O’Gallagher is flexing in front of the camera, showing off his workout pump. So, what’s suspicious about this?
The thing that’s suspicious about this video is the combination of leanness and fullness in his physique. The definition in his shoulders and chest that actually put the grainy muscle fibers on display is often called a very “dry” look. Now, the dryness of his body fat isn’t the issue. It’s the combination of the dryness and the fullness of his muscles.
Yes, it’s possible to look “dry” as a bodybuilder, but that also means you have to sacrifice size and energy in order for your body to maintain such a low body fat percentage. The fact that O’Gallagher is able to have his cake and eat it too sends up red flags.
But let’s be fair. Even if he was using performance-enhancing substances (not saying he did), that’s completely separate from the results that his programs deliver.
