According to a study by the IHRSA, about half of all Americans suffer from gym anxiety – or the fear of going to the gym. This fear typically stems from the social aspect and being judged for not knowing what to do or how to do it.

This shows there are two things that need to happen to improve health in America:

  1. People who visit gyms need to be more inclusive to all body types and encourage them to bring more people in to make them feel more comfortable.
  2. Home workouts need to be more popular for their accessibility and promoted to improve the overall health of the world.

The coolest part is that you can definitely get ripped with just home workouts. Take a look at Olympic gymnasts, who pretty much only use their body weight to work out, as your example.

How Long Does it Take to Get a Ripped Back (Truth)

When beach season — or shirtless season, if you like that terminology better — rolls around, it’s really easy to see guys with insanely ripped backs splashing through the water and feeling a bit of jealousy.

Many people want to fit into this idolized group. People with ripped backs often have other impressive physique standards, so it makes sense people want to look like that.

But how long does it take to get a ripped back?

The truth is … it can take anywhere from 6 months to 18 months to hit the level you desire. But even a little progress can make you look better and get closer to your ripped-back goal.

I love watching fitness dudes on YouTube as much as the next person, but nothing is crazier than the jacked gymnasts that compete in the Olympics.

There’s also a bunch of jacked calisthenics-only athletes on YouTube with all their “how-to” workout videos and progressions, but none of them say how long it takes to get that way.

There’s no straight answer on how long it takes to get ripped with calisthenics. It really depends on the person’s current body fat percentage, fitness level, and nutrition (possibly the biggest factor in being “ripped”).

Now that it’s warming up outside, it’s the shirtless season so everyone wants to look good. The problem is figuring out what to eat to be lean and ripped.

There are all sorts of fad diets out there that draw a lot of attention, but they will come and go.

The real answer lies in following the science. I like using the CICO diet or “Calories-In-Calories-Out” diet method because it uses science and tracking to get results.
